MadTree Brewing (est. 2013) became the first modern craft brewery to can beer in the state of Ohio when they released their first batch in April 2013. I remember reading reviews of The Great PumpCAN, and knew I had to give the brewery a visit. Part of a birthday brewery tour, I visited MadTree in July 2015. Cincinnati was also playing host to the MLB All-Star game, so the area was filled with additional visitors from out of town. My trip included several flights and a pint during the brewery tour. The pictures from the trip and the tour are below - what a fun day! I also picked up a MadTree Brewing Tap handle, which has their logo stuck into an actual piece of a tree branch, with the beer being poured represented on the sticker on top. This was the moment I decided a collection of all the Ohio breweries was an ultimate goal. I'll be sure to keep you updated on my progress!

Madtree opened the doors to Madtree 2.0 on February 7, 2017. The new taproom is only 5 minutes from the Kennedy Avenue location, which will now become strictly a production facility with no taproom. The new 2.0 taproom is 50,000 square feet and will feature 64 taps and a 10,000 sq. ft beer garden. Oh, and parking! A lot with 200 spaces!
